Now that the most prestigious awards night for primetime television is near, let me share to you the seven comedy actresses who I think will (and hope) to be nominated for the Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series category. And of course, I'll include who I think must win the said award.
You ready?
Here you go?
Amy Poehler, PARKS AND RECREATION (NBC)
Amy deserved this award ever since Parks started airing on TV. With an amazing and steady fourth season, Poehler's win is really not that impossible anymore.
Zooey Deschanel, NEW GIRL (FOX)
New Girl may not have tickled my funny bones as much as it did to other people, but the show's main star Zooey Deschanel is really not somebody to ignore. As the only bright light on the show, Zooey may finally receive her very first Emmy nod.
Lena Dunham, GIRLS (HBO)
She's a director, a producer, a writer, and an actress. What more can you ask for?
A sure bet.
Tina Fey, 30 ROCK (NBC)
Tina Fey is the kind of comedian who will never lose her edge. She's one of the best comedians right now, and another Emmy nomination for her is 100% possible.
Melissa McCarthy, MIKE AND MOLLY (CBS)
Melissa won last year, and she was nominated in the recent Oscars for Best Supporting Actress for her stint in Bridesmaids. The Academy definitely has some huge love for her.
Martha Plimpton, RAISING HOPE (FOX)
Oh Martha.
You have to be nominated, although winning is really something I cannot see for you.
Plimpton has done exceptionally well in Raising Hope this season.
Ashley Rickards, AWKWARD (MTV)
Ashley getting an Emmy nod is like expecting to see a meteor shower at night. There's a very very small chance of it happening, yet there's still a chance it will.
And I would be happy of she gets nominated. She deserves it.
And the Emmy goes to..... AMY POEHLER!!
