Saturday Night Fever

Saturday Night Live has been on air for almost 37 years, every Saturday night on NBC. On its current season, I just wanna point out an obvious line dividing the casts. Let's just call it the "Old Ones" and the "New Ones".

So here are the Old Ones:

They are the casts who have been on the show for years, and we can say that they are already PROS in SNL. All of them, specially Kristen, appears in most of the sketches in every episode.

Now, here are the New Ones:

Four of them are still featured casts so it's quite understandable, but 3 of them have been in the show for 2-3 years. They are the "new faces" of SNL... the "next generation".

Rumors are circulating that Wiig, Samberg, and Sudeikis will leave the show next season. I personally hope that this is not true. It is sad to see some of the best casts leave SNL, but as we all know, this is inevitable. They all have to go. Period. It's just a matter of "when".

But according to Kristen's interview in Alec Baldwin's podcast, she still don't know what's going to happen to her in SNL. According to her, sometimes you have to leave the things you love.

Before I end this post, I just wanna say that Taran Killam and Vanessa Bayer are the best featured casts so far. I can already see, especially in Killam, that they will be the new "crowning jewelries" of SNL. McKinnon did an amazing job in her debut last week, so I am sure we can see more of her in the next seasons to come.
