EMMYs 2012 Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series Dream Nominations and Winner

Now that the most prestigious awards night for primetime television is near, let me share to you the seven supporting actresses who I think will (and hope) to be nominated for the  Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama  Series category. And of course, I'll include who I think must win the said award.

The category is not that intense as the other awards, but, it's still exciting to know who will/can get some nominations.

You ready?

Here you go?

Anna Gunn, BREAKING BAD (AMC)

Anna Gunn's performance in the fourth season of Breaking Bad was phenomenal. From being an annoying and whiny bitch, to a lying and enigmatic mofo, Gunn's acting deserves some attention from the Emmys. The men of Breaking Bad may have overshadowed her a lot of times, but after this season, Emmys will give some love to a woman.

Christina Hendricks, MAD MEN (AMC)

Hendricks - who plays Joan - is the kind of actress who is difficult to define. She may not get the attention taht she deserves, but Joan's change and growing storyline from Mad Men helps Christina Hendricks to get the Emmy nod she needs. Most especially after Episode 11 (The Other Woman), Christina is already a safe bet.

Regina King, SOUTHLAND (TNT)

Without a doubt, one of the best and most complex female cop on TV. She's a one ass kicking champ. A sure nod for her.

Lena Headey, GAME OF THRONES (HBO)

Lena Headey plays Cersei so well that it makes me difficult to hate her character. Headey and Dinklage are the current gems of Game Of Thrones and giving them an Emmy nod is far from impossible. Definitely, she's one of the most hated-yet-loved villains in television right now.

Sandra Oh, GREY'S ANATOMY (ABC)

Christina - the character played by Sandra Oh - experienced a lot of heart aches this season. From abortion, to love breakdowns, career problems, and a plane crash. Oh's acting is definitely something to be considered of. But sad to say, the Emmy's don't give a tiny rat's ass to Grey's Anatomy anymore.

Archie Punjabi, THE GOOD WIFE (CBS)

Archie won the award on the first year of The Good Wife. Ever since, she has been nominated for her role in the hit legal drama. However, this season, Punjabi did not get that much focus from the writers. Nonetheless, she's a sure bet for this category.

Morena Baccarin, HOMELAND (Showtime)

Morena appeared in a lot - i mean a lot - of shows already, but since hitting a huge role in Showtime's Homeland, she got the love and admiration she has always been deserving of.

_____

Let me share to you the actresses who also have a huge shot in getting a nod.

Maggie Smith, DOWNTON ABBEY (PBS) (iTV1)

She won Best Actress last year (in the mini series category), now that her show jumped to the Drama Series category, Smith's acting in Downton Abbey is not as excellent as the acting done by the other nominees. Most of the time, Smith seems like the comic relief of her show despite having an important and huge role in the series. Maggie deserves more than that.

Lana Parilla, ONCE UPON A TIME (ABC)

Lana justifies Evil Queen Regina very well. She's compelling and amazing in her role. Like Lena Headey, Parilla makes us hate her so much, yet we can't stop but loving her.

AND THE EMMY GOES TO.... CHRISTINA HENDRICKS
