EMMYs 2012 Best Drama Series Dream Nominations and Winner

Now that the most prestigious awards night for primetime television is near, let me share to you the six drama series who I think will (and hope) to be nominated for the Best Drama Series category. And of course, I'll include who I think must win the said award. You ready?

Here we go...

BREAKING BAD (AMC)

Words can't describe how much I want Breaking Bad to win this year. The fourth season of the said show was its best so far. Breaking Bad is, without a doubt, one of the best (if not the best) television series ever created in this planet.

MAD MEN (AMC)

Mad Men had brought home the bacon for four years in a row. As the fifth season of the hit AMC show comes to an end, is it as provocative and perfect as its previous seasons? Is it enough to make history as the only TV show to win Best Drama series five times consecutively? I love Mad Men, but this year has been full of amazing TV shows. It's time to give the award to another series.

HOMELAND (Showtime)

Even though it's only on its first season, Homeland had proved that it's already one of the best TV shows right now. After grabbing some awards in the recent Golden Globes, Homeland (same as Breaking Bad) has a huge shot in ending the Emmy reign of Mad Men. The first season of this hit critically-acclaimed drama from Showtime gets the BEST FRESHMAN SHOW FOR 2011-2012 Award for me.

GAME OF THRONES (HBO)

Game Of Thrones season 2 is a huge success. Even without Sean Benn, the show was able to regain itself through thrilling and enticing storylines and phenomenal characters. But sad to say, I can't see an Emmy win for this medieval-fantasy drama from HBO. However, Lena Headey and Peter Dinklage deserves some Best Supporting Actress/Actor love from the Emmy panel.

BOARDWALK EMPIRE (HBO)

Another HBO show which deserves a nomination, but not the win. Boardwalk Empire had a rocky and mediocre first season, but it still got nominated last year. The second season, on the other hand, was a far better improvement. And on a surprising death by the end of the season, the show got the huge bolt that it needs. The people of Boardwalk Empire has some celebration to do for a sure Emmy noms.

DOWNTON ABBEY (iTV1)/(PBS)

The British drama captivated the hearts of the Emmys as it won last year in the Mini-series category for its 6-episode first season run. But this time, it jumped to the Drama Series category to compete with some of America's best works for TV. The second season of Downton Abbey may not be as excellent and dazzling as it predecessor, but it sure deserves some Emmy nomination for its compelling and heartwarming second run. Most specially because of the special Christmas episode, the show has some victory dance to do.

The list ends here.

The Emmy, for Best Drama Series, goes to...... BREAKING BAD.

But Mad Men might win anyway.

Here are some shows which I think have a good chance of being nominated. Oh wait. Scrap that.
Here are some shows which I think CAN be nominated, but we all know it won't happen.

ONCE UPON A TIME (ABC)

Well, let's just say that the magic from Storybrooke is not enough to convince the Emmy panel.
Amazing first season, though. And I think Lana Parilla and Robert Carlyle deserves some Emmy attention for their portrayal of Evil Queen and Rumplestiltskin, respectively.

THE GOOD WIFE (CBS)

The Good Wife is probably the only network drama that has a real huge shot of grabbing an Emmy nomination. I'm not a big fan of legal dramas, but TGW is surely something worth watching.

REVENGE (ABC)

The first season of Revenge was a success. But is the show perfect and exhilarating enough to get an Emmy nomination? I don't think so.

  2. it's going to be a competition between Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Homeland, and Game of Thrones.
All of these brought amazing seasons.
    Betting for Homeland, though.
