Let Them Play (Revenge 1x22 Reckoning Episode Review)

WOAH. OMG. HOLY MOTHER OF---.

That was an amazing finale.

Revenge ended its freshman run with loads of surprises, heart breaks, and action.

ABC's hit drama proved that it's a soap opera hiding in the lights of primetime. Yes, that's a compliment.

There will always be consequences for our actions. That's what happened to the characters of our beloved show. For everything they did, whether its horrible or just plain mean, karma will bounce back to you no matter what. By the end of the episode, we saw most of them experiencing the consequences of what they did - directly or indirect. (well, except Jack. he got the girl yo!)

The last 10 - 15 minutes of the show was both dramatic and heartbreaking. However, it left us a lot of questions that we can't do anything about but t wait for the next season.

We saw Victoria, together with Lydia, boarding off the plane. Moments later, it was reported that the plane did not reach its destination as it exploded upon take off. Is Victoria really dead? When I watched the scene again, they didn't show us Lydia and Victoria getting inside the plane. They were just in the stairs. And heck, I doubt if they will kill Victoria. She's one of the most awesome characters in Revenge, and Madeleine Stowe was nominated for her role in here!

Is Conrad really that bad? He's willing to kill his wife, and his mistress, just to save his name!

Meanwhile, Charlotte finally OD'd from drugs after seeing the news of her mother's "death". When she called Declan, our lonely boy told her to stay away for what she did to him and to his new girl friend. Will Charlotte die? I don't think so. She's a useless and an annoying character, but it would be unrealistic if she dies just like that without getting any sad moments.

Emily and Dan are finally over. Daniel found out about the whole Emily-Jack thing, thanks to our loyal psycho English friend Ashley. I was surprised that the whole break up scene was done so fast. But, after thinking about it and watching the rest of the episode, this is not the main focus of the episode. And if they made it longer, they might have dragged down the entire finale.

Now that Em is free as a bird from Daniel's huge arms, she went to Jack's bar to deal with him once and for all. But when she went there to finally be with the man she loves, fake-Amanda appeared..... and she's pregnant. I don't think Jack is the dad, but I hope he is. By this, there will be more drama. Anyway, we saw Emily crumbling down to pieces as she watch the one-that-got-away taken by another woman.

For the last scene of the episode, Nolan told Ems that he did a back up of the physical evidence he gave to the SEC guy. When he showed a CCTV video of what's in the back up file, a new mystery was revealed: Emily's momma is alive. Her father's death and the whole conspiracy was so much bigger that Emily though it was. There's this shady organization called The Americon Initiative, and they were responsible for the framing of David Clarke and  his wife's disappearance.

Over all, the season finale was perfect. The actors are amazing, the writing is superb. The writers definitely hooked up the motherload by bringing us surprise after surprise after surprise.

And it's nice to see Emily realizing that everything is going out of hand. But, her last words for the season - "Let it play" - gave me chills.
